Accredited fashion label Ginger & Smart has recently begun displaying Ethical Clothing Australia swingtags on all of their Australian-made garments in retail stockists including David Jones and Ginger & Smart's director, Genevieve Smart, said the response from customers has been very positive. Dina Corporate, the brand that supplies Virgin Blue with staff uniforms, has recently become accredited to display the Ethical Clothing Australia trademark on their Australian-made garments.

Ethical Clothing Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that assists local clothing and fashion business to ensure that Australian workers making their garment receive fair wages and decent conditions. It does this through an accreditation and labelling system that provides consumers and buyers with a way to identify and support ethically-made Australian clothing.

Channel 7 sports reporter and former AFL great, Tim Watson, has found himself in a mini fashion storm following his coverage of a recent Hawks-Bulldogs match at the MCG. When the year 10 Italian students at the Victorian School of Languages (VSL) were tasked with designing the school’s end-of-year graduation jumpers, they wanted to ensure the garments would not be made in a sweatshop. So they went to local manufacturer, Qualitops, which is accredited by the joint business-union initiative, Ethical Clothing Australia.

Grade 6 students at Brunswick South West Primary School will be donning locally‐made ethical hoodies when they graduate this year and receive their traditional commemorative end‐of‐year jumpers which feature the names of their classmates. The navy‐blue hoodies were sourced from Collingwood manufacturer, Qualitops, and embroidered at LMB Knitwear in East Brunswick, which both participate in Ethical Clothing Australia’s accreditation system.
